Long Incision Surgery is History
"Patient Manjit was admitted with the complaint of breathlessness and dyspnoea on exertion. He was not able to walk even for 100 meters. He has significant swelling both lower limbs. He had taken opinion at PGI Rohtak, he was told that one of major valve Mitral Valve is significantly leaking and important structure of valve called chord is ruptured. Then he consulted Dr Shailesh Jain Chief Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon, who advised him MITRAL VALVE REPLACEMENT through minimally invasive surgery. This technique is available at very few centres in the world. In this approach, front bone Sternum does not require to be cut.
The operation is performed with just 5 cm incision through the right thoracotomy. The advantage of this technique is early recovery to work, less blood transfusion, less bleeding, fewer chances of re-exploration and most important cosmetically it is best. Dr Shailesh Jain is performing ASD CLOSURE, VALVE REPLACEMENT & BYPASS SURGERY through MINIMALLY INVASIVE approach in selective cases.
